May Meeting

-

Join us for our next meeting on Monday, May 12th.

Please arrive in time for a 7pm start. The venue opens at 6:30pm, so if you can help with setting up, that would be greatly appreciated!

Date & Time:       7 to 9pm, Monday, 12 May 2025

Venue:                 Melville Woodturners

Location:             Kardinya Lesser Hall, Morris Buzzacott Reserve, 51 Williamson Rd, Kardinya

The speakers for the evening:

  • The Hand Tool Preservation Society (HTPS): The Power of the Hand Tool - Kim Mitchell and Nigel Burgess will hammer out the history of the HTPS and plane their way through a few of their favourite tools and quirky odds and sods.
  • Behind the scenes at the Kumiko Workshop: Planning, Preparation, Precision, and a dash of Panic! – Allan Waugh, Carolyn Ellis, Ian Houghton, and Kevin Luff will share their valuable insights and experiences - the trials, triumphs (and tantrums) - of planning and preparing for a successful workshop. There will also be a show-and-tell and the hands-on reflections from the workshop participants.

We will have time for a cuppa, a chinwag, and a raffle draw between presentations.

Please wear closed toe shoes, bring your own cup, sign in upon arrival, let us know if you prefer not to have your photo taken, and take care in the venue.

See you there!
