FWWA launches YouTube channel

The Fine Woodwork Association of WA (FWWA) has launched our official YouTube channel to share our members' expertise with a broader audience.
The channel serves as a digital extension of our Perth-based organization, offering educational content that includes:
Technical Tutorials: Demonstrations on joinery, tool maintenance, and finishing.
Event Coverage: Virtual tours of exhibitions like "Out of the Woods."
Knowledge Preservation: Recordings of masterclasses and guest speakers from our course and workshops.

FWWA at the Timbecon Wood Craft Fair in Balcatta

The Fine Woodwork Association (FWWA) participated in the Timbecon Woodcraft Fair, enduring hot weather to engage a steady stream of visitors. The event featured a display of Japanese-inspired works, expert sharpening and kumiko demonstrations, and a popular hands-on chopstick-making workshop. The day was a hit with the public, resulting in high interest in membership and a formal thank you to the volunteers who made the showcase possible.

Six FWWA members traveled to Japan in July 1025 for an incredible study tour through Japan. They spent their time learning from Japanese master craftspeople, visiting traditional craft centres and workshops, and taking in the local culture through sightseeing and plenty of photography. Here is a look at the traditional techniques they explored.
