Timbecon’s Tools, Timber & Techniques
This Saturday found us at Timbecon’s “Tools, Timber & Techniques” event at their store in Canning Vale together with a wide selection of other organisations and suppliers.
Carolyn, Allan, and I were on site early as we had to be ready to receive visitors by 8.30am and whilst we do not have a lot to erect compared to some of the displays, it still can take a while.
Ian Houghton was doing hands on demonstrating of his veneer work and showing people how he made his intricate Japanese designs, using the different coloured veneers and burls to create a picture. Together with an impressive display of his wildflower veneered panels.
Whilst I had brought along a few of the “shaker Boxes” to show the public what we did at some of our workshops.
There were quite a few visitors during the day and the many members that came along to help were kept busy answering questions and telling people what FWWA was all about.
We had a great day out and I am sure we all spent as much time catching up and talking to all the members that called in, as we did to the visitors asking questions.
So, many thanks to all of you that came along and especially those that stayed to chat and help hand out our notices and brochures.
